If you are planning to build your own online radio station then you should definitely consider getting an Auto DJ account as well. Auto DJ is revolutionary software that you can use along with your audio streaming software. The name, Auto DJ is pretty self-explanatory of what it does. After you load your music files on the Auto DJ server you then have the possibility to have it auto play songs even if your streaming computer isn’t on. This means hands-off radio streaming 24/7.

Just imagine how easy it could be maintaining your audience’s interest in your online radio station if you are using Auto DJ. You can create playlists with your favorite music and you can even place commercials in between songs. The best thing about Auto DJ is that you can pause it and start it back again whenever you want and your listeners will not even be able to tell the difference. You can still hold your live shows the same as before Auto DJ. All you are required to do is to push a button and the Auto DJ is stopped. Then after your live show is over you needn’t do much more than start the Auto DJ software again.

Nowadays almost every online radio station is using Auto DJ. This should also be an option for you if you don’t want to sit in front of your computer all day. Just think about it: with Auto DJ you will have more time for yourself to do other things and your audience will be able to listen to your radio station 24/7.

Configuration Winamp Shoutcast

This guide covers the basics of Winamp Configuration

Downloding the necessary files

To set up your Radio Station, you need to download the following files:

  • Winamp 5.x (Freeware/Shareware) – This is the player to stream music. Download it here.
  • Shoutcast DSP Plug-In for Winamp 5.x – This is the Plug-in to broadcast your music. The DSP plug-in is available here.
Note: Not a Windows or Winamp user? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! For our advanced users on Mac OS X, Linux and Unix, the UNIX/Linux version of the SHOUTcast Radio DSP permits input from a soundcard in addition to MP3 files on disk. Please refer to the example .conf file included with the archive for more information. Please note that this method of broadcasting is currently in beta and therefore unsupported. Please use at your own risk. Download the SHOUTcast Radio DSP for Unix/Linux/MAC OSX here
The latest extensions can be downloaded from the Winamp Download area located here

Step 1

  • Once the download has completed, you will need to install the software.
  • Verify that Winamp is not running, then double click on the installer that you downloaded and follow the on-screen instructions. When the installation process has completed, start Winamp and open your preferences. Click on “DSP/Effects” in the menu to the left, and highlight “Nullsoft SHOUTcast Source DSP v1.9.0 [dsp_sc.dll]“. When you have selected it, a new window should pop up. You may now close your preferences window.

Step 2

  • Once you have highlighted the proper row, a dialog box will pop up. This is the main SHOUTcast DSP window. Here, you can configure the server, encoder, and audio settings that you will broadcast with.

Step 3

  • Select the “Output” tab at the top of your DSP window. Select “Output 1″ under the selection box, and fill in all of the following fields properly.

  • Address/IP: Here, you need to enter the server that was given to you in the welcome email you received from us. It should look something like “91.121.91.73″. Make sure that you put in the proper server, or else you will not be able to connect.

  • Port: In this field, you need to enter the port that was given to you in your welcome email. It should contain 4 numbers. Once again, this must be set properly or else you will be unable to connect.

  • Password: Last, but not least, you need to set the password that was given to you in your welcome email, or the one that you changed it to. Enter this here, and make sure there are no mistakes.

Step 4

  • Yellowpage setup (streaming server display details)
  • Click on the “Yellowpages” tab right above where you entered all of the previous information.
  • If you’d like your server to be listed in the SHOUTcast directory, check the “Make this server public” box, and fill in all of the information below the box in a proper manner.
  • Be sure to check the “Enable Title Updates” and the two boxes that say “Auto” in order to show your users the title of the song that is playing.

Step 5

  • Encoder Settings (select streaming audio format)
  • Select the “Encoder” tab at the top of your DSP window.

  • Make sure under the selection box, you have selected “Encoder 1″.
  • The Encoder Type can be set to either MP3 or AAC+, our servers support both.

  • MP3 audio sounds alright, but is compatible with just about every media player on the market. AAC+ is only compatible with Winamp and Windows Media Player (with a plugin), but sounds much better at lower qualities. Be sure to choose wisely.
  • In the Encoder Settings dropdown, select the bitrate that you ordered from us, and be sure that the line you selected has “Stereo” at the end, so individual sounds will come out of both of your listeners speakers.

  • Note: If you stream at a bitrate higher than what you have ordered, we will send you a warning email, and your account may be deactivated.

Step 6

  • Input settings (select the input audio surce)
  • Select the “Input” tab at the top of your DSP window. Unless you have specific soundcard input settings, or want to talk on your stream, select “Winamp” at the Input Device. As every soundcard is different and individual, we cannot give any tutorials for the Soundcard Input.

Step 7

  • Go back to the “Output” tab in your DSP window. Make sure “Output 1″ is selected, and then click the connect button. In the status box above the button, it should give a time and then “Sent xxxx bytes”.

Congratulations, you have begun to stream audio!

You may now open any Winamp-compatible audio file in your player, and it will stream to our servers.

SHOUTcast DSP Plug-In for Mac OS X, Linux and FreeBSD

  • Downloading the Latest Version of SHOUTcast DSP Plug-In for Mac OS X, Linux and FreeBSD : Download Link
  • There are several ways to go about getting SHOUTcast onto a shell:
    * Run lynx from the prompt, head to www.shoutcast.com, and download the appropriate version of SHOUTcast.
  • Extracting the SHOUTcast server from the Archive
You can uncompress the .tgz or .tar.gz file with the following command:
  • t ar -xzvf sc_trans_posix_040.tgz
  • Just to be safe, it’s worth setting the permissions correctly before continuing:
  • chmod 755 sc_trans_posix_040
  • Configure the server by editing sc_trans.conf, as explained below. You can either edit this file locally, then upload it to the *nix box when all changes have been made, or use a simple text editor like pico or emacs from the prompt. Type “man pico” or “man emacs” at the prompt for more information on using these editors.

How can Auto DJ improve your online radio?

$

0

If you are looking to start your own radio station then there are some things you will need to have. The most obvious thing that you will need is a SHOUTcast hosting account. This is about the most popular software for online radio streaming that you simply must have. There are some other programs out there that are similar to SHOUTcast but none actually even come close to the feature set and performance that you can expect from great software that is SHOUTcast. The best thing about this great software is that it is fee and will always remain free. The second most important thing that you will need in order to run a successful online radio station is an Auto DJ account that you can attach to your SHOUTcast hosting account. What the Auto DJ software does is to allow you to stream your music online on your radio station while you are away from your computer. Actually, you don’t even need to keep your computer on while the Auto DJ has started playing. This is because the playlists that you will be creating for Auto DJ will be stored on a server other than your computer. So you can have a 24/7 online radio station and you don’t even need to do anything other than the initial setup.
Auto DJ has many great features such as FTP access (useful for uploading your favorite music to the server). Media library is another great feature. This will allow you to easily manage your mp3 files. Also very useful is the playlist scheduling feature which was previously mentioned in this article. Ever since it first appeared, Auto DJ has continuously grown in popularity. This is mainly due to the easy with which anyone can set up their playlists and begin playing on their online radio stations. Switching to your live source is also very easily done. You simply need to turn off the Auto DJ and then you can immediately begin streaming your live shows. When looking to purchase an Auto DJ account you should look for a company that offers very good customers support as well a demo account so that you can first try out their services and only if you are satisfied with them you should you actually purchase an account with them. There is really no reason why you shouldn’t use Auto DJ for your online radio station. It can only make your work easier and bring you many benefits as well. The greatest benefit is that you can keep your listeners happy so they will keep coming to your radio station.

Setup Shoutcast 2.0 Authhash Management

$

0

The DNAS server can be run in two modes:

Public – If you want your station to appear in the SHOUTcast Directory listings
Private – If you do not want your station to be listed e.g. an internal company station

If you want more listeners and it appears in Listings directory Shoutcast and affiliates is recommended to do this step.

Creating

Open SHOUTCAST PORT DNAS

The next step is to login to the Administrator Summary page which is accessed via the Administrator Login on the DNAS Summary page (found at the top right as shown in the image of the DNAS Summary page). Logging in to your control panel you can Centova Clicking ADMIN and open the Shoutcast Admin page. The user is admin and password admin. Example: http://YP_YOUR_STATION:PORT/admin.cgi.

Shoutcast 2.0

Shoutcast 2.0

To create an authhash for a stream then you need to click the Create Authhash link. This will take you to another page where you need to fill in the missing fields as applicable for your stream as the DNAS attempts to fill in fields with the information obtained from the connected source. Once all of the required information has been entered then click the Create Authhash button.

If there is a missing field or something is not right when attempting to create the authhash, then you will see a message showing what needs to be entered or changed or what to do to get additional help.

On successful creation, the new authhash will be saved into your configuration file either in the root configuration file or one where there’s an empty streamauthhash entry matching the stream identifier. When you go back to the Administrator Summary page the Create Authhash link will have changed to Update Authhash and Remove Authhash links.

Updating

Updating an authhash is the same as creating an authhash just with the existing information of the authhash shown in the fields allowing for them to be edited. If there are no issues and the authhash can be updated from the machine used (with it having the same external IP as used to create the authhash) then any changes made should be updated in the YP system.

If there is a missing field or something is not right when attempting to create the authhash, then you will see a message showing what needs to be entered or changed or what to do to get additional help.

Removing

Removing an authhash is a simple action of clicking the Remove Authhash link. If there are no issues and the authhash can be removed from the machine used (with it having the same external IP as used to create the authhash) then it will be removed from the YP system and also from your configuration file.

Seconda Fase – Messa in Onda

MBStudio, MBRecaster, Winamp Plugin ..etc.) inserisci i seguenti dati:

  • Tipo server: Shoutcast
  • Formato audio: Mp3 o AAC+
  • Bitrate fino a 192k (consigliamo max 128k).

centovacastplayer

$
0
0

  • L’opzione Auto-DJ acquistabile contestualmente all’ordine del server Shoutcast

3. Come carico gli mp3 sul vostro sistema?

  • Potete caricare i vostri files mp3 direttamente dal pannello centovacast oppure tramite FTP una guida dettagliata vi spiegherà come fare
